I am lucky enough to have private health insurance provided by the company I work for. As I had my treatment within the NHS, this meant I was “paid” for each night I spent in hospital. I feel that some of this money ought to go to help the department who have given me the chance of regaining my health. My op was carried out by Miss Betsy Evans and her team on the 19 th August 2015. In addition to myself, both my Mother and Father-in-law have had reason to be thankful for the expertise and care provided by the Yorkshire Heart Centre. My mother, Rene Rayner had a bypass procedure done in 1991 when operations were carried out in the Modular Theatres on the old site. Thanks to the skill and care of the Surgeons and nursing staff we had 15 years longer with mum than we otherwise would have had. Ken Lillie had a bypass in 1992 at Killingbeck. He went on to become a founder member of the Killingbeck branch of take Heart. Ken passed away in August 2009.
