...Making life better for Yorkshire Heart Patients

In June and July I will be walking the GR11, this is a distance of over 800 km. (500 miles.) from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean along the Spanish side of the Pyrenees. It includes approximately 39000 metres of ascent and descent. I am now 77 years of age and have wanted to do this walk for almost 60 years.

I have decided to make it a sponsored walk in aid of Take Heart and British Heart Foundation.

Why Heart charities?

My late wife had three mitral valve replacements two at L.G.I. The first time in 1977, i.e. Before Take Heart existed. Unfortunately she had to spend a lot of time (in total months) in the heart wards. I have therefore seen the benefit to patients of Take Heart.

Cheques can be made out to either, any cash donations will be evenly divided between the two.

British Heart Foundation (BHF) is the nation’s heart charity, registered in England and Wales (225971) and in Scotland (SCO39426).

Take Heart is a registered charity (10020063) raising funds for benefit of heart patients in the Yorkshire Heart Centre.

All expenses for this trip will be met by me.
