TAKE HEART
Welcome
The Charity of the Yorkshire Heart Centre
TAKE HEART CHRISTMAS EVE AT THE YORKSHIRE HEART CENTRE
Every Christmas Eve, trustees and friends of Take Heart meet in our seminar room in LGI and take sacks of presents round the wards for those who are unfortunate enough to be in-patients at this time. Ron and Pat take a sack away to St. James’s Hospital heart wards as well. There is a lovely festive atmosphere in the wards at this time and the busy staff work really hard to make everyone as cheerful as is possible, given their individual circumstances. One extra job for Ron and Pat this year - they went to a different ward in ‘Jimmys’ to deliver a present to our chairman, Colin Pullan who unfortunately was taken ill the day before and admitted. I am pleased to report that he is making good progress and should be discharged in a day or two. It’s the first time he has missed the delivery of presents in LGI - but as our treasurer said, “what some people will do to get a pressie from Take Heart!” Bill Stevenson
