The Charity of the Yorkshire Heart Centre
Thank you to Emma and Proctor and Gamble
click to enlarge I was pleased to meet Emma Appleyard from Rothham at Chapel Allerton Hospital where she had attended for a follow-up MRI scan, following succesful heart surgery in the Yorkshire Heart Centre at LGI. Emma presented me with a cheque for £600.00 from Proctor and Gamble Employees Charity Fund. Emma’s dad, David, explained: The amount that was raised was £400 through sponsorship by Garry and his engineering team who completed the cycle ride and this went to the British Heart Foundation. Procter & Gamble contributed a further £600 so then Garry wanted this amount to come to Take Heart. Garry is a close family friend who we met ten years ago during a family skiing holiday and we have remained close. He has always been aware of Emma's condition and the surgery aspects to rectify this and all the great stuff I have told him about LGI & Take Heart. From our perspective as a family we stayed at the hospital in one of Take Heart’s family rooms for one week during the time Emma was with LGI. I can honestly say that as a family we cannot express our gratitude enough to Take Heart, being on hand in the hospital instead of having to travel each day was a massive relief.” Thank you so much Emma, David, Garry and everyone at Proctor and Gamble. Every penny will go towards making a difference for patients in the Yorkshire Heart Centre. Bill Stevenson, Trustee
