The Charity of the Yorkshire Heart Centre
At the 2017 Annual General Meeting, Colin was absent - for the first time in 27 years. His Chairman’s address was read by Vice Chairman Gina McGawley and proved to be a moving moment. Colin apologised for his absence which was due to ill health. Both he and his wife Mary are very much ‘under the weather’ at present and with much regret, he felt that it was time he hung up the Chairman’s hat. Having been the founder of Take Heart and put his heart and soul into building the charity up from nothing, (and been rewarded by the Queen with an MBE for his efforts), the name Colin Pullan is synonymous with Take Heart and of course he will not be leaving us. He will remain as a trustee and will give the others the benefit of his vast experience. Colin’s 27 years as Chairman of the charity will be marked later in the year and the words ‘thank you’ are certainly not enough to express the feelings of the thousands of patients who have been helped by Take Heart in their journey through the Heart Centre. Gina McGawley was appointed Chairman at the AGM and as she is also General Manager of the Yorkshire Heart Centre, will ensure that Take Heart continues to make a big difference. Alec McLean Treasurer
