The Charity of the Yorkshire Heart Centre
Hi there, A few friends and I are planning theYorkshire Three Peaks on 2nd June this year and will be doing it to raise money for Take Heart. My Dad, Richard Gothard, was unexpectedly brought into LGI mid September last year and was there whilst he awaited his heart operation under Miss Evans on 8th November. After a prolonged but successful recovery, he was home in time for Christmas and remains eternally grateful (as do we his family) for the fantastic work that Take Heart do. The Roof Garden kept us all sane and broke up the understandable monotony of the 12 weeks he was in hospital. Thanks! Claire Gothard We were delighted to receive this from Claire - what she and her friends were proposing is no mean feat! They did it! and Claire wrote: Hi Bill, Hope you’re well. We successfully completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks on Saturday in 10.5 hours! It was a long and testing 24.5 miles but worth every minute! We have raised over £1,500 and still counting! My dad was at the LGI today for a check up so it means even more to us all. Hope the money helps to support the fantastic work you do. Thanks again. What an amazing sum for a fantastic effort - Thank you Claire and all your friends. Every penny will make a difference to patients in the Heart Centre here in LGI. Incidentally - when I looked, the total sum raised is £1896.00 !! Here are some photographs of the event. - click on any to enlarge.
